BOSTON, MA – September 24, 2026 – Flexxbotics, the autonomous manufacturing platform company, today announced that Tyler Bouchard, CEO & Co-founder, will present “Steps to Increase Manufacturing Autonomy through Industrial AI” at the ASTM International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing 2026 (ICAM 2026), taking place September 28 – October 2 in Orlando, Florida.

Manufacturers across aerospace, defense, medical device, automotive, semiconductor, and other high-compliance industries are investing in artificial intelligence to improve quality, throughput, and operational efficiency. However, many Industrial AI initiatives remain limited to experimental pilots because plants lack the machine connectivity, production context, interoperability, and process-control integration required for deployment at scale.

During the session, Bouchard will present a practical maturity model for progressing from conventional proprietary automation in production to interoperable connectivity, production contextualized data, and autonomous process control with human-in-the-loop governance for increasing levels of manufacturing autonomy.

The presentation will explain why greater autonomy that extends expert knowledge begins with connecting the different makes and models of machines, automation, test & inspection equipment, and manufacturing systems involved in production. It will also address why monitoring a limited set of variables using tags and registers is insufficient for reliable Industrial AI. AI models require complete production context at the source, including part specifications, process operations, machine conditions, tooling, quality results, and actual production behavior, to avoid misinterpretations and incorrect conclusions.

“Industrial AI can only improve production when it has the complete context required to interpret conditions correctly and a secure, controlled path for turning recommendations into action,” said Tyler Bouchard, CEO & Co-founder of Flexxbotics. “Manufacturing autonomy is a progression that starts with interoperability, amplifies the knowledge and judgment of experienced personnel, and advances through targeted use cases with human authorization, oversight, and traceability.”

The session will examine Industrial AI applications including process optimization, predictive quality, production drift and anomaly detection, tooling and equipment risk, root-cause analysis, corrective workflow recommendations, and production flow coordination.

Attendees will learn how manufacturers can:

  • Establish interoperable connectivity across diverse production assets and systems
  • Contextualize complete production data at its source
  • Extend the expertise of engineers, operators, and technicians across more operations
  • Introduce Industrial AI incrementally through targeted, measurable use cases
  • Maintain human authorization and oversight as autonomy increases
  • Implement AI recommendations through a secure and controlled production architecture
  • Progress safely from decision support to human-authorized and bounded autonomous control
